The Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science is committed
to creating and sustaining an environment of professionalism, scholarship

their respective goals as health care professionals and biomedical scholars

by the communities in which they live and work for their involvement and

and beyond Florida Atlantic University.

partnership with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
and our hospital affiliates, that:
- enables our medical students to become active, self-directed, life-long learners
- equips our graduate to effectively manage the patients that
they are most likely to encounter in their practices
- emphasizes the centrality of collaborative relationships in the
provision of the highest quality comprehensive health care
- fosters and values collaboration between basic and clinical science,
among medical specialties and between academic medicine and community
health care professionals
- produces physicians with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required
to practice humanistic, patient-centered, evidence-based medicine.
We are committed to providing graduate biomedical science programs that:
- produce scientists at the forefront of basic, applied and translation research
- promote collaborative, inter-disciplinary and innovative approaches
to research and inculcate our students with the ability to think creatively
- are responsive to business and industry needs for individuals with
scientific training and expertise
